ACT assists families in making choices that will best serve their needs by helping them eliminate current barriers to self-sufficiency and therefore reducing the risk of welfare dependency.

ACT was created in 1996 as a consortium of Greater Cincinnati social service organizations to respond to the imminent welfare reform changes. Its purpose is to increase self-sufficiency skills of families thereby reducing the need for public assistance.
